Covalence Heat Shrinkable Sleeves chosen for Joint Corrosion Protection on Victorian Desalination Plant Pipeline

Petro Coating Systems are pleased to announce they have successfully secured the order for Covalence WPC/B Heat Shrinkable Sleeves for the Welded Joints on the Victorian Desalination Plant Pipeline.

The pipeline which will be fabricated by Tyco Water and factory coated with Tyco’s Proprietary, ‘Sintakote’ Fusion Bonded MDPE Coating, measures 2 Metre OD diameter x 80kms length.

A total of 7000 No welded joints are to be protected with Covalence WPC/B Heat Shrinkable Sleeves, which to aid application will be supplied ready cut to length and with a factory bonded closure patch pre -attached.

Ist sleeves were delivered to the constructors, Thiess NACAP JV in early January 2010.

Covalence WPC/B sleeves are now the product of choice in the Water Industry, having just been used exclusively on the recently completed Sugar Loaf Pipeline.
